ESIGELEC  organised an American seminar for the third consecutive year on the nuclear  fuel cycle in France. A dozen American students came to ESIGELEC on May 27 for  a 10-day trip which included visits to companies, lessons at the school and  cultural outings.
                          These  students, from the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, visited five leading  companies from the nuclear industry: the nuclear power plant in Flamanville,  the National Agency for radioactive waste management in Soulaine Dhuys, the  Office of Atomic Energy and Alternative Energies in Saclay, and the Nuclear  Energy Agency in Issy-les-Moulineaux. 
                          In  addition, they followed courses within ESIGELEC on different topics in relation  to the theme : the nuclear fuel cycle and the third generation reactor / EPR. 
                          On  a cultural level, the young Americans were able to discover the historic  treasures of the Region and of France. Among others, they visited Paris, Rouen  and the American cemetery in Colleville and the Pointe du Hoc.
                          This  programme was part of the partnership with ESIGELEC, which, each year, allows  students from the School to do a dual diploma course at the University of  Pittsburgh.
