2 students won the regional « Parcours Entreprendre » prize in 2015

Five students including two from ESIGELEC (Louis Adrien Philias and Pierre Couderc, Project Leader) who participated in the 'Entrepreneuriales' of Haute-Normandie won the "Parcours Entreprendre" prize last May.

Their project involved providing people with allergies with a tool to detect allergens in foods, thus preventing them from consuming food that may produce very serious undesirable effects.

The first version of this promising project would be the Peanuts e-Peak model, a pen detecting peanut allergens.

The project was carried out in association with 1 PhD student in biology (Hafid Kora), 2 students from the Business Administration Institute (Ludivine Langendoerfer and Carole Kull) and was mentored by Antoine Potie and sponsored by Eric Marret.

SécuCode, national winner in 2014, fly off to Quebec

The SécuCode project saw the light of day in the 2014 session of 'Les entrepreneuriales de Haute-Normandie'. Its objective was to develop a personalised medical record that doctors can consult in the event of a road traffic accident directly at the accident location in order to improve patient care. The team, consisting of Theo Amy (ESIGELEC), Pierre-Baptiste Foucault (ESIGELEC) and Amira Aschi (University of Rouen), was supervised by a sponsor and a mentor, Mr Jean-Marc Varlet and Mr Bernard Retail respectively.

The supervising pair was there to support the team throughout the project contributing their knowledge of the business start-up world as well as their networks. Thanks to this very high-quality personalised support and lots of hours of work, the SécuCode team won the regional and national 'entrepreneuriales' competition !

At national level, the top 10 students in the competition had the opportunity to go on a 6-day study trip, organised by the OFQJ, to Quebec (in Quebec and Montreal) in September 2014. The aim was to discover a different entrepreneurial culture, more rooted in society. To do this, lots of trips were organised: an innovation and creation pole of the University of the La Salle and HEC Montreal, incubators, businesses accelerators, start-ups, chambers of commerce, etc.

                        	An achievement announced

Theo and Pierre-Baptiste decided to continue the Sécucode project by setting up an engineering project within ESIGELEC aimed at developing an operational model of the project. They have supervised this project since last October, while studying for a dual-diploma course at the University of Cranfield, in the United Kingdom in the context of the last year of their engineering course. In addition, Pierre-Baptiste will benefit from the new PEPITE (Student pole for innovation, transfer and entrepreneurship) government programme and the status of student entrepreneur in 2015/16 in order to finalise the development of the company while being supported by professionals. The company is expected to be operational by summer 2016.

Theo said, « For my part, the experience of the 'entrepreneuriales' has enabled me to realise that I really wanted to set up my own business. Initially entrepreneurship both intrigued and frightened me. The 'entrepreneuriales' enabled me to demystify setting up a company. I now want to create my own company and I have the tools to be able to achieve my goal. The contribution of the 'entrepreneuriales' from a personal and professional point of view is outstanding and allows you to develop your personality and knowledge in many fields that are not necessarily addressed at the school of engineering.  »
